Medicare Part D Prescription Drug coverage is here!

The Medicare Modernization Act of 2003 created the NEW Medicare prescription drug coverage – sometimes called Part D. In a nutshell, it means that Medicare will pay for your outpatient prescription drugs through private plans, like Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont.

Enroll in Blue Medicare Rx

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont, in a joint venture with several other New England Blue plans, partners with the federal government to offer the new Medicare Prescription Drug coverage. You now have the convenience and added security of having your Medicare prescription drug coverage through the same company you already know and trust for your health care coverage.

However, you must join a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan in order to receive this new coverage. It isn't automatic. It's important to investigate your options now, during the initial enrollment period for Part D. If you wait, you may have to pay more for your coverage later.

You may have heard from many insurance companies offering versions of Medicare Prescription Drug coverage. You may even find all the different choices from all the different companies a bit overwhelming. If you need help sorting through your options, don't hesitate to call our customer service representatives for help.
